Maybe the town was right. She was bewitching him somehow, but he would gladly let her do whatever she wished. To be her slave and follow her to the ends of the earth would be an honour. Anything, anything at all, for just one kiss of those luscious lips or one touch of her hand on his skin.
Spell bound, he wished with all his heart that there was a way into that room, but it was walled up with only the smallest gap to pass food platters back and forth— not that the noble lady ever asked for much except cuts of meat, served rare. Truly saddened, he wanted nothing more than to hold her in his arms and tell her everything would be alright. He wanted to be there for her, to serve her, no matter what.
As if sensing his sadness Elizabeth looked into his eyes soothingly.
"Do not be sad, my love, for we will be together. Think of me tonight before you close your eyes to sleep, and I will be with you in your dreams."
He wished with all his heart it could be so.
